WHO WE ARE
The 'Fire Glass Journey' began in 2008 when we started out as a single cutting bench in the corner of a shared factory employing just two staff.

In 2018 we celebrated our first decade in business with five Branches nationwide (and a separate Installations division) and now employ over 120 members of staff.

With a lot of hard work and dedication we have taken the company from a standing start to market leader for the supply of fire-rated and other specialist glass. Our strapline is to provide the glass you need, when you need it.

Our success has not been by accident but through our direct action. Our customers know that FGUK is a brand they can trust to deliver. We know that integrity goes a long way and our focus is on the service we provide and how we can best serve our customers' needs in the increasingly challenging marketplace.

Fire Glass UK is run on hard work, commitment and a continued strive for improvement. We are delighted to have been shortlisted as finalists in the 'Glass Company of the Year' category at the prestigious Glass Awards for 2017, 2018 and 2019

Our customers are valued by us and we are very fortunate to have a number of customers who have been with us throughout our journey. It is clear that our customers do not just buy products from us, they buy into our commitment to them. 2008

THE START OF SOMETHING NEW

The Fire Glass Journey begins with a single cutting bench in the corner of a rented factory.

2009

OUR OWN PREMISES

Initially having a front desk where you could buy glazing products. We also started to offer specialist installation services for fire-rated glass.

2010

BRANCH TWO OPENS: FIRE GLASS NORTH

Fire Glass North opens in Manchester.

2011

ANOTHER MOVE FOR FIRE GLASS UK AND INSTALLATIONS

Fire Glass UK and Installations have outgrown their first factory and moved into bigger premises.

2012

BRANCH THREE OPENS: FIRE GLASS SOUTH

Fire Glass South opens in Colchester as the call for specialist glass in the South and London increases.

2013

BRANCH FOUR OPENS: FIRE GLASS EAST

Fire Glass East opens in Derbyshire – originally having it’s own Toughening Plant.

2014

BRANCH FIVE OPENS: FIRE GLASS SCOTLAND

Our fifth branch opens in Edinburgh.

2017

INCREASED DEMAND MEANS BIGGER PREMISES FOR FIRE GLASS UK

Fire Glass UK has relocating its Head Office and UK Branch into significantly larger premises.

2016

DEVELOPING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Creating defined ways of teams to work in a more efficient way.

2018

CELEBRATING 10 YEARS IN BUSINESS

Fire Glass UK celebrated it’s first decade in business in 2018 growing into market leaders for fire rated and specialist glass.

DEDICATED TECHNICAL HELP DEPARTMENT

You asked we listened and created a dedicated Technical Help Department for our customers to get help on glass specifications and testing.

2019

A CLEARER VISION ON THE FUTURE

Fire Glass UK invested in a bespoke glass software system from Jotika. The system allows for internal functions to be streamlined.

2018

INVESTMENT IN A NEW TOUGHENING PLANT

Investment in a new Toughening Plant and a new product successfully tested.

2019

RELOCATION FOR FIRE GLASS NORTH

Fire Glass North invested in a much bigger factory.

2018

INVESTING IN PEOPLE

Investing in people and creating structures within the organisation.

2019

BLUESKY CERTIFICATION

IGUs and UKAS accreditation for factory production control audits and periodic IGU testing for air and gas filled units.

South move to bigger premises
